Things to do while "pressing on"
The letters to the word PRESS can be a reminder to us of what to do in times of heat or pressure.
-P Pray. Find a friend to pray with, write down your prayers in a journal, ask others to pray with you.
-R Read. Read encouraging Scripture from the Psalms, read Christian authors such as Oswald Chambers, his devotions can be found in the devotion archive at Mercy drops.
-E Encourage- take time to encourage someone else, it will get your mind off of you and before you know it you will be encouraged yourself!
-S Set Your Heart Right with God. I John 1:9, make sure there is no known sin blocking your relationship with God. Confess and get right with Him.
-S Surrender- We often take our situation to the Lord while still maintaining control. The famous evangelist George Mueller said as he went to prayer, "I seek at the beginning to get my heart into such a state that is has no will of its own in regard to a given matter. Nine-tenths of of difficulties are overcome when our hearts are ready to do the knowledge of what His will is." Seek to totally surrender your situation to God's will seeking to have his perspective rather than your own.
Some Scriptures to read when under pressure: I Corinthians 2:10-12, Romans 8:26-27, Isaiah 55:8, Psalm 33:21,
