Be Resolved
"Being
sensible that I am unable to do anything without God's help, I do
humbly entreat him by his grace to enable me to keep these
Resolutions..."
 Most of us make New Year's
resolutions with a Make 'em and Break 'em attitude. We are not committed to change
or to a lifestyle that is actively seeking to become conformed to the image of Christ.
Jonathan Edwards made his list of resolves not with the attitude of breaking them, but
with the attitude of living them! He began by reading them over each week and doing a
"self- check." He regularly summed up how he was doing and sought God's help in
