Introducing

The Meet Me at the Well Bible Study Series

by Jan Brown

The Well. It was vital to the town's existence. Without it the people would perish. Their lives centered around the well, and not a day went by without a trip to it.

For the women, it was more than a source for physical needs. It also met an emotional need. Women gathered at the well to share secrets, catch up on the latest news, and give support to those in need. The well drew women together and pointed out to them that they were not alone.

At times we may feel alone in our struggles, in our fears, and even in our joys. But we too, as women, can gather at the well of God's Word. There our spiritual thirst is met by the living water. There our emotional thirst is satisfied as women from long ago assure us: You are not alone in the struggles and choices you face. From their examples of defeats and victories, we find insight into how to deal with challenges to our own faith.

Are you weighed down by burdens?

Friend, be encouraged. You are not alone. There is hope in the midst of your falterings. You'll see...Come. Meet me at the Well.

The Meet Me at the Well Bible Study Series presents with humor and poignancy some fresh insight into how the women in Scripture relate to the lives of modern women, giving new hope through personal application of their struggles, blunders and victories.

In working with women from all over the world through coordinating women's ministry for Christianity Online, one thirst is found to be common to all women: the need to know they are not alone. Meet Me at the Well developed as a series online to help women identify not only with each other but with women whose names appear throughout scripture.
